Demolition of chalets and Princes building began in February 1998, until September 1998 at a cost to the
Vale of Glamorgan Council of £592,520.
Demolition was authorised through emergency powers to the Cheif Executive of the council, who approved the
tenders and any variations to the contract in excess of the limit stated by the financial regulations to enable work to be
competed 'to the best advantage of the Council'.
